One Another Early Hearing Care

If you have concerns about your child's auditory development, we have the expertise and tools to help.

What is Audiology?

Audiology is the study of hearing and balance. It is a branch of science that involves prevention, testing, and management of auditory and balance problems.

Who are Pediatric Audiologists?

Pediatric Audiologists specialize in diagnosing and treating hearing disorders in children of all ages, from infants to teenagers. Understanding that children do not have the same hearing needs as adults, pediatric audiologists use a variety of techniques to get the full picture of a child's hearing, recommend the best treatment options, and monitor outcomes.

We work closely with other professionals such as primary care providers, ENTs, speech and occupational therapists, psychologists, teachers, and others to provide comprehensive care.

Why Early Hearing Care is So Important

Children with untreated hearing difficulties often fall behind their peers in speech and language development, cognition, and social skills. However, early detection of hearing problems and appropriate intervention often leads to development similar to peers with typical hearing.

"Early Hearing Care" means both screening at a young age, such as with newborn hearing screening, and detecting and managing hearing problems as soon as possible after they begin. Newborn hearing screening has made improved outcomes possible for so many more children than before, though passing is not a guarantee that hearing problems won't develop later.
